During the Community Manager Hangout, we invited community managers to a Pot Luck. Everyone was to bring a question a be ready to share and answer other’s questions. With the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, Friday was the official beginning to the holiday season and brought up questions about looking back, using Pinterest, driving conversions, what we learned from getting together with family and most importantly that for community managers, “It’s not about generating likes, it’s about generating love.”
That was the quote from Laura Horak of HootSuite as we defined the differences between social media managers and community managers. Joining Laura in the hangout was: Jonathan Brewer , Ally Greer , Mark Schwanke , Jenn Seeley , Jillian Jackson and myself, Tim McDonald .
