When online gathers offline, magical things can happen. That’s why I’m so excited about the Community Manager UNconference in Chicago on February 24! As a community manager, spending much time on the computer engaging with the community, analyzing data and strategizing new campaigns, can often feel like a lonely job. So getting a chance to meet so many other community managers is not only a welcome relief, it’s also a way to learn. When you have community managers from enterprise companies like Walgreens, Career Builder, Google and Deloitte; startup companies like MentorMob, Sprout Social, Listly and Hashable; agencies like Pivotal Production, Legacy Marketing Partners, Lakeshore Interactive and Sensei Marketing; students, vendors and so many more, you know you will get a great range of perspectives and viewpoints on community management.
The unique feature of an UNconference is that we don’t have presentations. Our speakers are discussion leaders and can be YOU! Have a topic you’re passionate about? Or just want to learn more about? Submit your topic idea and we’ll select them the day of the event! All sessions will encourage participation from everyone, not just the discusion leader. Don’t want to participate in the discussion? No problem, sit back, take notes and enjoy the dialogue as some of your peers discuss information relavent to you. We do have two featured discussion leaders.
